What it's April?

Can you believe it is April already?  This year has gone by fast.

Yesterday Murray and I worked all day cleaning the house.  I don't mean regular cleaning but really  cleaning...spring cleaning...washing windows, racking the lawn, dusting (Murray did all the high places). I know that having a clean house isn't really worth anything in the grand scheme of things, but the house feels good to live in right now :)  This morning we are off to church and grocery shopping.  Fun Fun Fun.

Have a good Sunday

A Rainy Tuesday

I think my cat was a mountain lion in his previous life.  He has found some way of climbing onto every one of the highest ledges in our house.  Its pretty amazing when you see him do it.  Now that I am staring to think about spring cleaning I am cursing this love of his because I am going to have to find some way to get up there to dust!

SPRING BREAK!

Spring Break started ..oh..about two hours ago, I don't think I could be more excited!

I was looking forward to working at the greenhouse and spring cleaning over the break but with the cast it looks like my week is going to be very low key.  I plan to do a lot of reading and digital scrapbooking.

My cast could not have been more popular this week at school everyone wanted to know what happened. Of course I was ashamed to tell them, I should have made up a knife fight story or something, like my mom said falling off a chair is a bit of a grandma thing to do (no offense to the Grandma's out there).  Everyone wanted to sign it!  My cast is not white anymore it is very multi-colored and full of love.  I really love it...well except for the fact that it is starting to smell and prevents me from doing my hair among other things.

Happy Birthday Jeanette!

To the best Mom in the world.

You never cease to amaze me with your endless kindness and generosity.  Everyone who knows you loves you because of your big warm heart.  Hope you have a wonderful day.

Love You!

Be careful what you wish for...

you just might get it.

I have been thinking lately, my life has been so regular lately with nothing interesting to blog about.  that all changed yesterday.

I was doing a quick tidy of the basement and had to stand on a chair to reach something , as I was reaching up, the chair slipped from underneath me and I fell.  I was home alone of course because Murray was at work so I laid on the floor for a few minutes talking to myself.  'just breath...you're okay...I don't think anything is broken...just breath...don't cry...if you pass out no one will find you until at least 5:00 so you have to get up"  (I am so rational with myself).  Picturing this scene in my head is funny now that I think about it.   So I got up and thought, "my wrist is really sore but I will be fine".  Then I headed off for only my second day at the greenhouse.  As the afternoon went on my wrist got more and more sore and swollen, but I was determined to tough it out until the end of the day.  I was really worried that my new employers would think I was flaky if I asked to go home early so I stuck it out.  Luckily my neighbour is a nurse and when I got home she told me it looked more serious then a sprain so I should go to the hospital.  Murray drove me to the hosipal when he got home and sure enough I have a fractured scaphoid bone in my left wrist and now have a cast for the next 4 weeks!
4 WEEKS!  I am feeling a little sorry for myself because I am not quite sure how this will affect my greenhouse job or my teaching job (I teach P.E remember)...but like Murray said it could have been worse.  I could have landed on my head instead of my wrist.  He has always been a 'the glass is half full' kind of guy and I am so thankful for that.

The moral of the story... be careful the next time you are wishing for something to blog about, you just might get it.

Sorry about the photographs but I am doing everything one handed these days and it is very tricky.Img_4441

Murray wanted to be the first one to sign my cast.

I couldn't even get it in a neat color!  I think that is what I am most upset about.

Have a good tuesday.

Feels Like Spring...

Not just because the weather has improved dramatically and the snow is starting to melt.  Another sure sign of spring is when you go to get dress in the morning and you look in your closet and hate everything in it!  All you ladies out there know what I am talking about.  It was painful to get ready for work this week.  It might be time for a closet overhaul.

Anyone have any good tips or websites for organizing/cleaning out closets?  I would love any help you could offer.

Enjoy the weather!

It's Official...

We are going to Europe!!
We booked our trip yesterday with the travel agent.   Murray and I have been planning and dreaming and saving for a long time now and final it is going to happen this summer. I am so excited.

Have a good day all!

A Weekend Away

I spent the weekend at a Bed and Breakfast scrapbooking with eight friends (old and new).  Two days and two nights of relaxing pedicures, good eats, and plenty of girl time...it was so great!  Here are some of the scrapbook pages I completed.  A big thanks to my friend Rae-lynn who organized the weekend (you did a wonderful job Rae). I am feeling a little spoiled for sure.

While I was having girl time, Murray was in a hockey tournament all weekend getting some boy time. They lost 4-3 in the 'A' final on Sunday but it was a really good game.

Today it is back to regular Monday activities.  A good day to all.
