Mystery Smell...No More!

I have been battling an awful smell in my car since Christmas.  Its like a musty ass smell.  I thought it was the mats so Murray and I took them out but that did not work.  Before my sister came out at Christmas time I was desperate and put a cherry air freshener in to try and cover the smell.  The first thing she said when she got in the car was "it smells like cherry farts in here". Hahaha

In the spring the smell got a little better but it was still there.  Two weeks ago Murray and I finally broke down and splurged for a detail job thinking steam cleaning the inside would help.  Murray drove my car home the next day and said it smelled great...I was so relieved.  When we got back from our camping trip, however, the smell had returned.

Finally, I tried Norwex Sportzyme which has a bioactive formula that is suppost to eliminate organic residue that causes odours.  3 days later the smell is finally gone!  I can't wait to try it on Murray's hockey equipment now.

Moral of the story:

Do not drink Milk To Go's in your car and if you do, do not let them spill on the carpet!  At least I think thats what the smell was?

Gone Fishin'

To send the summer out in style Murray took Friday off of work and we hit the road to do a little camping and fishing.  With no particular destination in mind when we headed out ( different for us we usually plan everything) we ended up near Nordegg.  We did some hiking and some fishing unfortunately with no luck...not even a bite.  But we did have a great time and I was thankful to just get out and enjoy the wilderness with my Murray.

Me and My Sister

Murray has been working so much this summer that I decided to book a trip to go and visit my sister in Ontario for a week.  We had a great time.  I was excited to see her new house, where she will go to school in the fall, where she works and genuinely get to know her a little better.  It always amazes me how close we are even though we live 3000 miles apart and only really see each other about twice a year.  Thanks for the great visit Sam.  Love you.

Now that I am home however I have some catching up to do and I have to start thinking about the S word ...you know...SCHOOL!  Noooooooo!  I don't want the summer to end.

48 hours with the kidlets

My niece and nephew came over for a couple of sleepovers this week and we had a lot of fun.  We went bike riding, to the outdoor pool, and of course to daycamp.  Its been awhile since Murray and I got to spend a significant amount of time with them and I had almost forgotten what amazing little people they both are.

I did have trouble trying to convince B that a Dilly Bar was 'white ice cream with chocolate on it' like he wanted.  No reasoning with a 4-year-old I guess.

Congratulations Kelly and Rene!

What an awesome wedding!  From the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception the whole weekend went off without a hitch, it was so fun.

3 Years and Counting...

Yesterday Murray and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary.  Nothing fancy but we did have a good day.  Monday we went to see the latest Harry Potter as our 'just in case' anniversary, as in 'just in case Murray had to work late on our real anniversary' at least we did something. Turns out he did not have to work late on Tuesday night so we went out for dinner ( at our fav chinese food restaurant) and then went camera shopping.  Why did we buy a new camera?  Well our old one (which we both love) can be a little big sometimes to carry around so we invested in a cute little point and shoot (Canon Power Shot SD1000 Digital Elph).  It's so cute! 

I can't wait to really test it out at Kelly and Rene's wedding (only 3 more sleeps)!

We are back...

Well actually we have been back for a week now but it took us that long to get adjusted and back to a regular schedule.  It was such an amazing trip, so much to see and so many things to do.   At the end of two weeks we were happy to come home but sad to leave just because it felt like there was so much more to see.   Out of London, Paris, and Rome, Rome was our favorite city.  We would love to have had two weeks just to visit all around Italy.  This would like our teaser trip.  We were bit by the travel bug for sure.

We took so many pictures on our trip.  I have been procrastinating posting only because of the time it will take to create an album to share them with you.  Here is a small sampling of our trip they are out of order but it was they best I could do.
