More Photos...

Well am I very lucky to have more than one friend who is a great photographer. Christine gave me a give certificate for a 6 month photo shoot at my baby shower and we were able to get together this week to have the photos done (more like a 7 month photo shoot).  Even though Zachary was cranky most of the day with his teeth he was able to turn on the charm for the camera.

Thanks Christine.  Check out more of the photos here.

Happy Halloween.

once a ponytail girl, always a ponytail girl

In high school my friends teased me about always wearing my hair in a ponytail.  The truth was it was so thick I didn't have the time or energy to do anything else with it.

Fast forward ten years and not much has changed.  After Zachary was born I felt I really needed a change so I lightened my hair.  After that wasn't enough of a change I lightened it more and chopped 6 inches off. And even though I love the new look, part of me is still kicking myself for doing it because now I have difficulties getting it all in a ponytail.  I like having 'a style' for my hair but when push comes to shove I like the ease of pulling my hair back off of my face.

I guess I will always be a ponytail girl at heart.

Just something I have been thinking about while my next hair appointment fast approaches.

Happy Wednesday.

The Littlest Oiler Fan

You can't live in Oil country and not be an Oilers fan.  This weekend we were lucky enough to be invited to the Oilers first home game.

I do love the Oilers but to be honest I am a little bit of a on-again off-again fan.  I am a big fan when they are winning and disinterested when they are losing.  Murray, however, is a true Oilers fan and it was nice to get the chance to share that with Zachary.

A picture of the seven of us at the game.

Chilly Montana

Taking full advantage of my maternity leave, we were able to visit Montana this past week while Murray was down there for work.  Had the weather been nicer (the wind was 50 mph) the trip would have been much better. Trees that had beautiful fall leaves when we arrived were bare the day we left. We did, however, get to spend one day in Glacier National Park, which was very beautiful.  There is something so majestic about the mountains, they always make me feel so very small and insignificant (in a good way).

There was not too much to do, but it was nice to have a few days to relax.  I did not think about laundry, dishes and all those other chores that plague me daily.

A few pictures

Montana, a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Blessed

Thursday my friend (and favorite photographer) Sandra, took some fall family pictures of our family.

She posted a sneak peak on her blog.  Looking at this picture I can't help but feel very blessed.

I forget sometimes and its nice to be reminded.

Thanks Sandra.  You were great as always, can't wait to see the rest.

Happy Sunday!

6 Months

Our little man is growing fast.

At 6 months old he is 16 lbs 7 ozs and 26 inches long

He sits on his own now, but tips every once in awhile.  He can roll easily and is even pulling himself along the floor now.  If he sees something he wants he tries to pull himself towards it, most of the time he ends up pushing himself away from the item and then he just gets mad. I may be a mean mommy but its kind of funny to watch.

Just for fun I thought I would dress him up for these pictures. Zachary is going to be a cowboy for Halloween (with more clothes on of course).  Enjoy the pictures!

Fun, fun, fun...

Happy Saturday!

Update

Its been awhile since I have been able to blog.  Here's what has been happening lately.

We are currently in the middle of changing all the flooring in our house.  We are on phase 3 of 6. Phase 3 is the office, so my office is spread across my kitchen.  Its hard to get excited about computer projects right now.  The upside is that we are half done and then we will be carpet free!!!  Who ever put white carpet in my house should be shot.

Zachary is now 6 months.  Hard to believe but true. Everyone said the time would go fast and it really has, I have a hard time remembering the newborn he was some days.   He is eating solids regularly now, its fun.  Since starting solids he is sleeping better at night, the trade off is that diapers are a lot scarier!

Soccer season has ended and Basketball season has started.  As much as I like soccer I am reminded how much I love Basketball!  This week was our first pre-season game and it felt so good to be out on the court again.   Looking forward to the new season.

Zachary has a new best friend.  Ty, my neighbour's little boy is in love with him and is always talking about his best friend 'baby Zachary'.  Its quite sweet.  I had a chance to take a few pictures of them the other day.

Zachary's crabby face and the cute onesie Grandma Jeanie bought him.  The face matches the shirt don't you think?

Thats pretty much it from our little corner of the world.

Happy Saturday!
