New Mom Neglects Blog...

Okay so sorry I have not posted lately.  As I have posted before the days just seem to get away from me. 

This is Zach's one month post (5 days late).

To celebrates Zach's one month birthday we walked over to the health unit to have him weighed.  I am happy to report he is 10lbs 3ozs and 22 inches long...in other words he is growing like a bad weed.  It seems like just this past week Zach has become much stronger and much more alert.  He is starting to hold his head up a little and real seems to be focusing in on the faces of the people who hold him.  April 27th he looked right at me and smiled an intentional smile (Murray and Sam were both there to witness it)  but we have not yet been able to catch any smiling on camera.It all seems to be going by too fast! 

My sister flew in on Sunday so we have been spending a lot of time with her.  So happy to have her company and help. 

Zach has learned to take a bottle every once in a while so I am starting to get a little more sleep.  Good news all around.

Days Go By...

Honestly a day goes by so fast here at home.  Zach and I really don't get too much done in a day. Lunch, a shower, and a nap are really productive days.  We are, however, really enjoying each other's company which I think is the important thing right now.

Newborn Photos

Of course the follow up to a maternity session with Sandra would include newborn pics only a few weeks later.  Thanks Sandra for coming over only a few hours from getting back from your vacation.






 

I love this last picture.  When Zachary is older I will pull it out and say "I remember when you were so small you could fit IN your bookshelf!"

Zachary and I are just going to try to get through our first day home without Daddy.

Babymooning

The last two weeks since Zachary has been born have honestly gone by in a blur.  We have spent hours learning how nurse, sleeping, visiting, and just getting to know our son.  I can't even count how many hours we both have spent just staring at him.  Every time he does something new one of us will call the other from one side of the house to come and see.  We are truly mesmerized and blessed.

Its been so amazing to have Murray home these last two weeks, the real test will be Monday when he goes back to work...YIKES!
