Update

Murray is going to change my tire when he gets home tonight and put one of my summer tires on. No need to worry.   I have such a good husband.

Well, Well, Well...

Let's see...I haven't posted in awhile so I should have something to write about right?

I still have a cast.
I did find out I can ride my bike with a cast.
Murray and I have been going for bike rides in the evenings and its great.
The satelite is finally working.
We have been TV free for 9 months (by choice) so we have been TV bugs this last week.
Calgary is out of the playoffs.
So I guess all is right in the world again (sorry Brianne)
I, like Marci, am also addicted to facebook now.
Like I needed another reason to waste time on the computer.
I got a flat tire today on my way home.
My car is sitting at Extra Foods.
Thanks to Marnie, my neighbour, for driving me home.
Murray is working late and I am trying to decide what my plan of action should be to fix my tire.
Any thoughts?
Maybe I will just watch some TV! haha

Thoughts for the day

I was listening to CISN on Friday on my way home from work and they had a women on, her name was Madea, she was turning 100 years old on Friday April 13th.   She was such an interesting woman, listening to her on the radio she did not sound a day over 60 and you could tell she was the type of person who always had a smile on her face.  Anyway, because she is so old, people ask her all the time what her secret is to living a long healthy life.  She said that when she first was married in 1928, she moved into a small house on a farm with her husband.  When they were moving in she was trying to tidy the basement but every time she tried to sweep the basement floor,  more cement would crumble and there would be more and more mess to clean up.  Frustrated she went up stairs to complain to her mother.  Her mother looked her in the eyes and said 'make the best of it'.  Maeda said that since 1928 she has always tried to 'make the best' of every situation and has always put her faith in God... that is her secret.

So whatever challenges are in your life right now I hope you can 'make the best of it'.

Maeda, if you ever come across this sight, Happy Birthday and thank you.

How does one person acquire so many clothes? Its sick really.

Now I need to transport it all to Goodwill.

Good News...Bad News...

The Bad News:  I thought I was getting my cast off yesterday, instead I found out that I have to wear my cast for at least 4 more weeks (maybe more)!!!!

The Good News:  I went to the Grey Nuns Cast Clinic today and they were able to give me a cast that is completely waterproof!!!  I am thinking like why have Murray and I been suffering these last four weeks when they have waterproof casts?  Now I can shower, swim, bath, and... cross your fingers folks... work at the greenhouse again!

Tomorrow I am  going to try to work a full day at the greenhouse.  Wish me luck.  I will tell you how it goes.

Happy Weekend!

An old farmer's advice...

  • Life is simpler when you plough around the stump.

  • A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.

  • Forgive your enemies.  It messes up their heads.

  • When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.

  • The best sermons are lived, not preached.

  • Most stuff people worry about ain't never gonna happen anyway.

  • Don't judge folks by their relatives.

  • If you find yourself in a hole the first thing to do is stop diggin'.

  • Always drink upstream from the herd.

  • If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' somebody else's dog around.

Last but not least...

Live simply.  Love generously.  Care deeply.  Speak kindly.  Leave the rest to God.
