The great outdoors

Had a chance to go snowshoeing this weekend.  Murray wanted to get out and look for antler sheds, I wanted to get out and get some exercise, so we decided to snowshoe in a field close to his parents house while looking for sheds.  We had a lot of fun.  It was nice to get out and enjoy the fresh air.

Here are some photos.Snowshoeing

Now What?

After I completed my permanent certificate observation, I was talking to my Aunt on the phone and after I told her the good news she congratulated me and then calmly responded 'now what?'  Those two simple words have been ringing in my soul ever since.

Those two words summed up what I have been feeling for the last couple of months.

Those who know me know I am a bit of a planner.  When finishing high school I set out a few goals I wanted to accomplish for myself; finish University, get a Education Degree, marry Murray, get a teaching job, buy a house.  Getting my permanent certificate was at the end of this list, now that I have checked that off I keep saying to myself 'now what?'

I am proud for having accomplished the things I set out to do.  I am also very happy for where I am in my life right now; great husband, good job, nice house.  But I am also a little scared because for the first time in my life I don't really have a strong desire to follow.  I know I want to set a few more goals, there is more I could and should do.  I just really haven't decided what it is I want to do the most.  So maybe I am meant to spend 2007 assessing me, listening to my heart and figuring out what it is I would really like to do next.

Thanks for listening.

Finally...something to blog about

My life lately has been pretty 'regular' (as Marci would say), not really much to write about.  But, today I have some good news.

I was evaluated for my permanent teaching certificate... and passed. I am a real teacher.  My application will be processed and I can expect my certificate in the mail in about a month or so.

I have to admit the days leading up to this evaluation I was stressing.  Not that I thought I wouldn't pass, I just wanted to make sure I had dotted my i's and crossed my t's so to speak.  I don't think I slept at all last night, but this morning I got up and said I am just going to do my best and be myself, that has gotten me this far.  With a positive thought and a prayer I left the house.  The day did go really well.  My grade one students were so sweet and as good as gold (and no I didn't bribe them I think they just knew).  Just another reminder of how sometimes you just have to have faith.

That's it from my corner of the world.  I am really looking forward to our card making class this Saturday.
Take Care.

Birthday Wishes

Today my friend Kelly turns the big two-five.  Happy Birthday Kelly, hope you have a wonderful day.New_years

Kelly, Murray, Rene, and I at our New Years party this year.

Love You!

We are going to Mexico!

I am so excited our family trip to Mexico for February is officially booked. Thanks to Melony and Darcy, there will be nine of us going. I think the last time we all took a trip together might have been Disneyland when I was eight.  This is going to be fun.   Beach and sun here we come! Bpak_panoramic04a_1

I'm Back...

A long absence from blogging I know but over the holidays it was so busy with so much going on (like most peoples holidays I am sure).  The visit with my sister and her boyfriend Josh was great, so thankful to have them here for the holidays.  We hosted Christmas dinner at our place for 16 people and even though the basement was not completely finished the dinner was a great success. a special thanks to those who helped out Sam, Josh, Mitch, and Jeanette.  I am not sure that Murray and I could have pulled it off without your assistance.  Boxing day was spent playing games over at my aunt's house organized by my ever creative cousin.  Joel and his wife created a mock version of The Amazing Race.  We paired up (even my Grandma and great aunt played), they had us solving word puzzles, piggy-back snowshoeing, melting blocks of ice with body heat, and even eating cat food! My cousin Lyndsay and her boyfriend Ross won the game.  Murray and I were eliminated  in the second  last round because neither of us could stomach the cat food.  What fun!  Thank you Joel and Sam.  New Years we spent with Curtis, Marci, and Nollie playing Curtis' Nintendo Wii, and going to a hall party.  Thank you to Pat and Nina for putting it on, you did a great job.
New Years Day we were sloths.  We spent the day watching movies and doing basically nothing, it was wonderful.  We are still struggling trying to get back to 'normal' life again.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.
